Legal

Terms of Use

Last updated 29 October 2026

These terms are a contract between you and Bulletproof Technologies, the company behind Haylo. Please read them, especially the health disclaimer, the subscription terms and, if you live in the United States, the arbitration agreement in section 17.

At a glance

  • Haylo helps you track and prepare. It is not medical advice or a medical device. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
  • You must be 18 or older to use Haylo.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings.
  • Your data belongs to you. You can export it or delete your account at any time.
  • If you live in the US, disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days.

1.About these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Bulletproof Technologies (“Bulletproof”, “we”, “us” or “our”), the company that owns and operates Haylo. They apply to the Haylo mobile apps (the “App”), our website at haylolife.com (the “Site”) and related services (together, the “Services”).

By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree to these Terms, please don't use the Services.

If you download the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's terms also apply. Section 18 contains additional terms that apply to the App Store.

2.Haylo is not medical advice

Haylo is a personal tracking and self-care tool. It is not a medical device, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition. It has not been evaluated or cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration, the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration, Health Canada or any other regulator.

  • Patterns and estimates. Patterns, cycle phases and other insights are calculated from what you log, using simple fixed rules. They describe associations in your own data, which are possible triggers and not causes. Cycle phases and period timing are estimates, not medical or fertility predictions. Do not use Haylo as contraception or to plan or avoid pregnancy.
  • The doctor report. Your report summarises your self-reported entries to help conversations with your clinician. Clinical terms such as “dysmenorrhea” describe what you logged. They are not a diagnosis.
  • Always involve a professional. Seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any questions about a medical condition, and never ignore or delay medical advice because of something in Haylo.

In an emergency

If you have severe or sudden pain, very heavy bleeding, fainting, a high fever, or thoughts of harming yourself, get help now: call 911 (US and Canada), 999 (UK), 000 (Australia) or 112 (EU). For emotional support, you can call or text 988 in the US and Canada, call Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK and Ireland, or call Lifeline on 13 11 14 in Australia.

3.Comfort rituals and other content

Haylo's comfort rituals, such as heat, breathing and gentle movement, along with its food-trigger guidance and other content, are general wellbeing information offered for comfort, not treatment.

  • Stop any ritual straight away if it increases your pain or you feel unwell.
  • Check with your clinician first if you are pregnant or might be, are breastfeeding, have recently had surgery, or have a condition that affects how you can move.
  • Before trying a food or drink, consider any allergies or intolerances and possible interactions with medicines you take. Food guidance is there to help you test patterns in your own log; it isn't a diet plan.

4.Who can use Haylo

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • You may use Haylo only for your own personal, non-commercial tracking, with one account per person.
  • Haylo isn't designed for clinicians to track patients, or for anyone to track another person.
  • You may not use Haylo if the law where you live prohibits it.

5.Your account

Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your email account and device secure, because they are how you sign in, and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at support@haylolife.com if you believe someone else has accessed it. We may ask you to verify your identity before making changes to your account.

6.Subscriptions, free trials and payments

  • Plans and prices. Some features require a paid subscription or purchase. The available plans, prices and any free-trial length are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency. Prices may vary by country and include or exclude taxes as shown.
  • Who processes payment. Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which act as the seller and process payment under their own terms. We never receive your payment card details.
  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Free trials. If you start a free trial, your paid subscription begins and you are charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Free trials are limited to one per person.
  • How to cancel. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Deleting the App or your Haylo account does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Lifetime access. If we offer a one-time “lifetime” purchase, it gives you access to the features included in it for as long as we operate Haylo, not for the life of any person. It is personal to you and can't be transferred.
  • Price changes. We'll give you advance notice of price changes as the app stores and the law require. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Refunds. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies, and we can't issue them directly. Nothing in these Terms limits any right to a refund that you have by law.
  • UK and EU cancellation rights. If you live in the UK or EU, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. Because paid features become available immediately, you ask for your access to begin at purchase, which may affect that right as far as the law allows. Apple and Google handle cancellation and refund requests for purchases made through their stores.
  • If your subscription ends. We don't delete your entries because a subscription or trial ends. You may need an active subscription to keep using paid features.

7.Your data and content

You own the entries, notes and other content you add to Haylo (“Your Content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display Your Content only as needed to operate the Services for you and as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies in backups that are overwritten on our normal schedule.

You can export or delete Your Content at any time. You are responsible for anything you choose to share outside Haylo, such as your report.

8.Acceptable use

When using Haylo, you agree not to:

  • access, or try to access, anyone else's account or data;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or probe the security of the Services or their infrastructure;
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or decompile the App, except as the law expressly allows despite this restriction;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Services;
  • upload malware, or use the Services for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Services, or use them to build a competing product; or
  • misrepresent who you are or your connection with anyone else.

9.Haylo's content and your licence

The Services, including the App's software, design, illustrations, rituals, text, and the Haylo name and logo, are owned by Bulletproof or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with the rules of the app store you got it from.

10.Feedback

We love hearing ideas for making Haylo better. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you. Please don't include health details in feedback unless you want us to see them.

11.Third-party services

Haylo works with third-party services such as Sign in with Google, Sign in with Apple and the app stores, and the Site may link to other websites. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for them. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12.Changes to Haylo

We're always improving Haylo, so we may add, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces the paid features you rely on during a paid period, we'll tell you and, where the law requires, offer you a fair remedy. If we ever decide to stop offering Haylo, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice where we reasonably can, so you have time to export your data.

13.Ending these terms

You can stop using Haylo at any time, and delete your account whenever you like. Remember to cancel any subscription in your app store as well.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if it's necessary to protect other users or the Services. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data. Sections that by their nature should continue after these Terms end, such as those on liability and disputes, will continue to apply.

14.Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that insights, estimates or reports will be accurate, complete or suitable for any medical decision. Some places don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you live in the UK or EU, digital content and services we provide must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

Australia. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

15.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bulletproof will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Haylo in the 12 months before the claim arose and US$50 (or the equivalent in your local currency).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you live in the UK or EU, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Because Haylo is for personal use, we aren't liable to you for business losses.

16.Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Bulletproof against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services. This section doesn't apply to consumers in the UK, the EEA or Australia.

17.Governing law and disputes

Talk to us first. Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before starting a formal claim, please email support@haylolife.com with your name, your account email and a description of the issue. We'll try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days.

If you live in the United States

Please read this carefully. It affects your rights, including your right to go to court and to take part in a class action.

  1. Arbitration. If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and Bulletproof agree to resolve any claim relating to these Terms or the Services through final, binding arbitration on an individual basis, administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in the county where you live, or by video or phone if you prefer. We'll pay all AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees beyond what you would have paid to file in court, unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous.
  2. Exceptions. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, or ask a court for an injunction to stop misuse of intellectual property.
  3. No class actions. Claims may only be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding, and you and Bulletproof both waive the right to a jury trial. If this class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim will be decided in court rather than in arbitration.
  4. Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@haylolife.com with the subject “Arbitration opt-out”, your name and your account email, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out won't affect any other part of these Terms.
  5. Governing law. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and without removing the protection of any consumer laws of your state that can't be waived.

If you live in the United Kingdom

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You can bring claims in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there. You keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws where you live.

If you live in the EEA or Switzerland

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, but you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you live in Australia

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state or territory where you live, and its courts have jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

If you live in Canada

These Terms are governed by the laws of the province or territory where you live, and you can bring claims in its courts. The US arbitration terms above don't apply to you.

Everywhere else

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, except where your local law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.

18.App store terms

Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you and we also agree that:

  1. These Terms are between you and Bulletproof only, not Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Bulletproof, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  2. Your licence to use the App is limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing.
  3. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the App.
  4. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  5. Bulletproof, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  6. If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Bulletproof, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  7. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms, such as your wireless data agreement, when using the App.
  9. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Questions, complaints or claims about the App should be sent to us using the details in section 21.

Google Play

If you downloaded the App from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service also apply. Google is not responsible for the App or its content.

19.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will change the “last updated” date above. For material changes, we'll give you at least 14 days' notice in the App or by email before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using Haylo and cancel your subscription before then. Changes to section 17 won't apply to a dispute that either of us has already notified the other about.

20.General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms shown to you at purchase, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
  • Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example in a merger or sale of the business, and we'll make sure this doesn't reduce your rights. You may not transfer yours.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Events outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Third-party rights. Except for Apple as described in section 18, no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
  • California users. Under California Civil Code § 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
